At this weekend event, families will enjoy refreshments at a POST-hosted reception and campfire, organized kids activities provided by WOLF school, and several guided nature walks and activities for adults. Campsites will be assigned by POST—we will do our best to accommodate each attendee’s needs. Please note that dogs and RVs are not allowed at this event.
If you want to participate in the activities, but don’t want to camp overnight, that’s OK too! Please register using the ticket called “Saturday Afternoon & Evening Activities (Day Use)” below. You’re welcome to join us for any or all events after 2:30 PM!
For campers, ticket costs cover the campsite and participation in all activities. Day use tickets cover the cost of participating in Saturday’s activities. This is not a POST fundraiser—all proceeds are going to cover basic costs of hosting this community event.
This event is part of POST’s community event series. These events are open to the general public as well as POST donors, and we hope you will join us! We also curate a separate series of private events for our donor community. Learn more about how you can support POST here: openspacetrust.org/support
In 2007, Hewlett-Packard transferred ownership of Little Basin to the Peninsula Open Space Trust (POST) and Sempervirens Fund for permanent resource protection and public recreation. These two organizations maintained the land until Little Basin was added to Big Basin State Park, part of the California State Parks system, and is now open for the public to enjoy.
Peninsula Open Space Trust protects and cares for open space, farms and parkland in and around Silicon Valley. Since 1977, POST has protected over 75,500 acres in San Mateo, Santa Clara and Santa Cruz Counties.
This event is co-sponsored by our friends at Save The Redwoods League who are hosting a Free Second Saturday’s at Redwood State Parks event in honor of their centennial celebration. Check out their website for more details. Happy Birthday, Save the Redwoods League!
