Today, POST is pleased to announce the launch of the Farmland Futures Initiative (FFI), a 10 year, $25 million effort to triple the number of protected farmland acres and triple the number of protected farms on the San Mateo Coast.

Protecting farmland has always been a part of our mission. With FFI, we envision a landscape where agricultural lands continue to provide important wildlife habitat, open space connectivity and healthy, locally grown food. In the last 30 years, San Mateo County has lost over a third of its farmland. With your support, we can ensure that the land, the infrastructure, and farmers needed to make our local agricultural lands productive will thrive. Watch this short video to learn more.

We will be celebrating FFI with a unique, local food oriented celebration called Taste of the Coast with POST on Saturday, April 30 from 3:00 to 7:00 pm. Join us as we celebrate our local farms with delicious local foods, drinks, music and more.

In the months ahead, you will hear much more from us as we share the successes of FFI with you, our POST community. To learn more, visit farmlandfutures.org.
