We know you love to hike, bike, and walk your dogs on our beloved local open spaces. One of those special places is Pillar Point Bluff, a POST-protected property just north of Half Moon Bay that’s a favorite destination for hikers, dog-walkers, and birdwatchers.
Now, we’re giving you a chance to see the land you’ve helped protect from a brand-new perspective – the skies! We filmed Pillar Point Bluff’s hiking trails, dramatic cliffs, and views of the Pacific with a drone. Join me for the spectacular aerial tour of Pillar Point Bluff by clicking on the video below.
POST has been working for the past 11 years to protect Pillar Point Bluff from development, restore it to ecological health, and build the section of the California Coastal Trail that runs across it. We’re proud to say that, thanks to our purchase of the last 21 acres of the Bluff last spring, this beautiful slice of the California coast will now be preserved forever.
When we’ve completed the last section of the Coastal Trail that runs across the newly-protected parcel, we’ll transfer the land to San Mateo County Parks, and hikers like you will be able to legally hike across the entire Bluff at last! We couldn’t have finished the job without our partners at San Mateo County Parks, funding from the California Coastal Conservancy and the Lauer Family, and the help of POST supporters like you.
If you’d like to learn more about how POST protected Pillar Point Bluff after you take the video tour, you can read the story of how POST acquired the land on our blog, get quick facts about the project on our website, and plan a visit to the park.
