Last fiscal year POST continued to protect and care for the Peninsula and South Bay’s spectacular open spaces. As we reflect on the year, it’s important to remember where we started — as an ambitious organization that tackled one project at a time, successfully conserving areas like Bair Island and Windy Hill. Today, with your support, POST handles multiple, complex projects simultaneously, creating a network of protected lands. We also recognize that our work has impacts throughout the entire Bay Area. So, we’re expanding our reach and engaging a broader base of communities, community organizations, and partners. We hope you enjoy reading more about the year’s projects below.

Our 2023 – 2024 Accomplishments
Our spectacular local landscapes provide critical wildlife habitat, access to nature so that people can recharge, land for local farmers, and a natural infrastructure that helps reduce the effects of climate change. At POST, we recognize that both land preservation and ongoing care are essential to the health of our region. 785 ACRES PROTECTED LAST YEAR
Acquiring property is the first step toward land conservation — it’s at the heart of POST’s mission. But it’s only the first of many steps down a path to permanent, ongoing protection, restoration, and care for any one parcel. At POST, we spend most of our time working with willing landowners and establishing trusted relationships with government agency partners, farmers, and other conservation service providers. It’s this constellation of effort that results in many of the amazing strides we made between July 2023 and June 2024.
Landscape Stewardship for People and Wildlife
Over the years, our work has expanded far beyond land protection. We also dedicate significant time and resources to restoring landscapes and enhancing natural resources, building wildfire resilience, and conducting studies to understand local wildlife movement. Projects like these ensure the long-term health of our local landscapes.
