We Protect Open Spaces for the Benefit of All

Peninsula Open Space Trust and the Muwekma Ohlone Tribe of the San Francisco Bay Area were honored to host Indigenous leader, author and scientist Dr. Robin Wall Kimmerer in San Jose in San Jose in the Spring of 2022. Dr. Kimmerer's talk centered around how native traditions and scientific disciplines provide different languages through which we can interpret the world. Integrating the two can provide us with a roadmap for how people can come into relationship and care for the land where they live, honoring the past and planning for a sustainable future.

Join Saved By Nature in collaboration with Peninsula Open Space Trust for a 4.5-mile moderate hike along Heritage Grove, a magnificent old-growth Redwood forest on Alpine Creek. Along the way experience coast live oak woodland, scenic views of the Pacific Ocean, and northern mixed evergreen forest. A Saved by Nature naturalist will be leading this hike and sharing about the natural history of this beautiful place, near to many POST protected lands!

Join POST and Chopsticks Alley Art for the 8th Asian American Healing Convening as a safe place for Asian American community members to build community, connect, and address mental health challenges we are facing. For this convening, we will come together as a community to meditate, reflect on our journey this year, and look forward to a new beginning ahead. We will harness the five life forces: Earth, Wind/Air, Water, Fire, Silence/Void to incorporate more of nature's gifts into our daily contemporary lives.
