Tune into the soundscape of Bay Area forests and discover the birds that bring coastal redwoods and oak woodlands to life.
These landscapes are alive with birds, even when they’re out of sight. From towering redwood forests to rolling oak woodlands, native and resident birds help shape healthy ecosystems, and their songs offer clues about who’s in the forest and what’s happening around them. We’ll help you tune in to the flow of the forests around you and reveal the hidden world that shapes some of our most distinctive landscapes.
Join POST and Carolyn Knight, Education & Outreach Manager at Santa Clara Valley Bird Alliance, for a live online event exploring the fascinating roles birds play in our local forests. You’ll discover how to listen beyond what you can see, meet some of the Bay Area’s year-round feathered residents, and learn why these birds are essential to thriving forest ecosystems.
