Join us for a beautiful, 7.2 mile walk along the Cowell-Purisima Trail that POST helped to create by protecting adjacent farmland. After walking most of the 3.6-mile bluff top trail, we’ll turn around to catch the sunset on the way back.

This sunset walk is a great opportunity to learn about POST’s work with farmers on the coast, and to create recreational opportunities along one of the most scenic stretches of our state’s coastline! We hope to see you there.

Please note that dogs are not allowed on this trail due to active farming on the adjacent land.

Please RSVP as space is limited. We will share the meetup location and directions closer to the event.

About the Cowell Purisima Trail

This section of the California Coastal Trail has it all: stunning Pacific vistas on one side, working farmland on the other, and a secluded beach at the northern end. The trail offers spectacular views of the ocean and the gently sloping foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains.

The northern end of the trail begins above a small state-managed pocket beach at Cowell State Beach and continues southward across three bridges and past rich, productive farm fields to a bluff-top overlook. The trail is open to hikers and cyclists and, with the exception of a section that passes through the steep banks of Purisima Creek, is accessible to wheelchairs.
