Join Peninsula Open Space Trust for a fun online event where we will learn all about the bats of our area!

Corky Quirk will join us from Northern California Bats, an organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and release of bats throughout Northern California. We’ll learn about the important role bats play for insect control, and dispel fears, myths and misconceptions that can lead to the destruction of roosts and colonies. Let’s work together save these highly valuable mammals — by educating others and conducting rescue efforts.

Get ready to learn interesting facts about some of the most common bats of the Peninsula and South Bay region. As part of the presentation, three species of live California native species of bats will be presented via webcam for viewing and discussion.

This presentation will be roughly 45 minutes, followed by 15 minutes for questions from the audience. The content will be appropriate for all ages, but primarily for adults and children ages 12 and up. The event is free, but registration is required to receive additional updates and a link to join in advance.

This event is part of POST’s community event series, which is open to the general public as well as POST donors. We hope you’ll join us! We also curate a series of private events for our donors. Learn how you can support POST here: openspacetrust.org/support-post
